« I ALWAYS WANTED TO CREATE A WATCH TO MATCH THE CAR. »
Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche
In the 1960s, F. A. Porsche designed an iconic sports car with the 911, and he also established distinctive design principles: pure functionality with the highest performance. The Black instruments with Red hands in the cockpit of the 911 did not follow any preferred aesthetic or contemporary trend. They maximised the number of victories in motor sports through their optimal readability.
Driven by these successes, in 1972, F. A. Porsche developed a watch that showed racing drivers the time even under the most adverse conditions: the Chronograph I. As the first completely Black chronograph, it revolutionised the world of watches. Directly derived from the instrument panel of the 911. Its exclusive legacy: the Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition.
The Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition, further developed in numerous details, is a tribute to the iconic Chronograph I – equipped with today's technology. For Porsche enthusiasts who want to keep track of their lap times, the functional design not only ensures accuracy but also evokes pure emotions with every second. Experience the perfect symbiosis of motor sports DNA, Porsche Heritage and watchmaking excellence from the Porsche watch factory in Solothurn, Switzerland with a hand-crafted precision instrument. A true 'sports car on your wrist'.
Icons of Time.
To this day, the Chronograph I represents the perfect symbiosis of skilled design and engineering excellence – derived from sports cars and the race track. Since 2022, strictly limited edition models have been created according to this principle, including in collaboration with Porsche car culture communities.
